How to submit updates to minonktalk.com
The minonktalk.com
Webpage Update menu allows viewers to submit articles, photographs,
emails, etc. We encourage our viewers to use this menu to provide interesting
and entertaining information to this website. Information submitted must not
contain profanity or slanderous material. All information submitted will be
reviewed for content prior to being released to the website. Any
information deemed inappropriate will be rejected.
The purpose for adding the update feature is to make this website truly
community oriented and supported. It also will provide more information to the
website and make it more interesting and entertaining. Our goal is to get
everyone involved in interacting with the community through this website.
Suggestions for submitting information
-
Use Copy and Paste when possible -
If you are creating an article of your own, it is easier to compose the article
using your favorite text editor and then copying and pasting the information to
the text form on this website. Some MinonkTalk input forms, however, have their
own text editing features in which you can edit directly on the form. Examples
of this are the Community Webpages, Alumni updates and the news article
submission.
-
Keep pictures sizes small -
When submitting pictures either in an article or in a photo album, keep the
picture size less than 100K and keep the width less than 400 pixels. Pictures
taken directly from a digital camera are around 500K to 2000K bytes in
size and are much too large to be placed directly on a webpage. Large pictures
also slow the loading of a web page. You can reduce the size of your pictures
by using a photo editor such as PhotoShop to reduce picture sizes.
-
Use the JPG format for your pictures - Pictures should be converted to
the JPG format for uploading to this website. This format creates the
smallest file size. Do not use BMP
pictures as they create extremely large file sizes.
-
Don't be afraid of submitting data - Don't worry about breaking the
computer when submitting information. Occassionally, you may receive an ugly
yellow error page. If so, just email us and tell us what happened. This web
page has been tested for over a year but there may still be some bugs.
-
Copyright issues: Be careful not to use copyrighted material from
other web sites or from other authors. Cartoons, pictures, and
stories from other web pages generally should not be used unless given
permission. Jokes and pictures passed around through emails are probably
ok to use. It is ok to link to another site to show certain material as
long as the link does not alter the presentation of the web page to be linked
to.
